Books
The Books for Dog Lovers Series is currently available in paperback, audio, hardback, and Kindle Unlimited. It has been in ePub, and will be again, but I'm not sure when.
Angel of Darkness Series books 01-10 are currently available in ePub format (and paperback):
- Kill Switch
- Angel of Darkness
- Blood Justice
- Midnight Burns
- Mourning Scars
- Predator Mine
- Nightmare's Rage
- Shanghai Fury
- Black Dawn
- Die Forever
Other books in the series? Yes, they will be released in the ePub format some time in the future.
However, there is good news even if the epub versions come later than the Kindle versions - you don't need a Kindle to read Kindle books. For example, I don't have a Kindle, so I read Kindle books on my computer, while Ania, my partner, reads them on her phone.
You can get FREE software for your phone, tablet or computer (PC/Mac) from Amazon so you can read Kindle books on almost any device. Get it here:
I hope you take advantage of Amazon’s free software and dive into the Angel of Darkness Series. I guarantee you won’t regret it – Tess will take you on a white-knuckle thrill ride you won’t forget!
Happy reading!
Yes, really.
Kill Switch has been an Amazon #1 best seller in all these charts:
- #1 in Crime Fiction
- #1 in Mystery Series
- #1 in Assassination Thrillers
- #1 in Serial Killers
- #1 in Hard-Boiled Mysteries
- #1 in Noir Crime
- #1 in Pulp Thrillers
- #1 in Vigilante Justice
Here's a picture to prove it for just one of those categories:

Each book is a self-contained story, so they can be read out of sequence (with the possible exceptions of Nightmare's Rage and Shanghai Fury).
However, small subplots run through the series to make it more fun, so you'll enjoy it far more if you read the books in order (these threads come together in Nightmare's Rage and Shanghai Fury, so it's wise to read these in order). But this is only a suggestion.
The titles in the Books for Dog Lovers Series range from 75,000 to 105,000 words.
Most of the books in the Angel of Darkness Series range in length from approximately 40,000 to 51,000 words, with the exception of Die Forever, 67,000.
So you can judge what that means in terms of length for the shorter books, below is a list of books of around that same word count, some of which you might have read. (I’m using word count because page count is unreliable.)
Robert B Parker, Sixkill (Spencer) (47,402)
Patricia Cornwell, At Risk (Win Garano) (38,800)
Stephen King, The Colorado Kid (36,346 words)
James Patterson, Merry Christmas, Alex Cross (53,668)
Jack Higgins, Sure Fire (51,754)
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 (46,118)
Jack London, Call of the Wild (34,865)
Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (30,644)
Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five (47,192)
Michael Crichton, Eaters of the Dead (47,124)
Dean Koontz, Moonlit Mind (37,895)
John Grisham, Calico Joe (44,945)
For the same reason that James Patterson produces so many titles as BookShots - life is so short and many readers today want fast reads.
I could easily pad out the word count to make them double the length, but why waste your time and mine?
If you want action and suspense, then my job is to give you action and suspense.
If you want pointless conversations, endless descriptions of settings, and plodding, step-by-step details of every tiny, little thing every single character does and sees and thinks and feels and… don't read my books.
On the other hand, if you want a hard-hitting, thrill ride… Well, I think you know which button to click!
All that said, Die Forever (book 10) is a full length action-packed novel, clocking in at a tad under 70,000 words.
General Questions
A well-researched survey from a few years ago says only 46% of traditionally published authors make over $1,000 per year. The average writer's life is not filled with celebrities and yachts, as many people like to romanticize it to be.
By publishing my books myself, I earn higher royalties. Because of this strategy, I managed to quit my day job in 2016 and have been a full-time writer ever since (i.e. writing is my only source of income). On top of that, I have complete creative control of my work.
For most links, yes, but not all of them. (Or as Amazon insist I put it: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”)
In case you aren’t aware what affiliate links are, if you click on one and are taken to a store where you buy something, I get a tiny commission (just a few cents).
Don't panic!
You don't pay any extra when using such links – the price is exactly the same and the commission comes out of the store's profit, NOT your pocket!
Most of the Amazon links are affiliate links. Amazon charges me a substantial fee for selling my books on its websites, so if you use an affiliate link on my site, I get a tiny bit of that fee back.
I work around 50 hours per week, so while I'd love to help everyone fulfill their dream, I'm sorry but I simply don't have the time.
There is an almost endless array of online services that will evaluate, copy edit, or proofread manuscripts. Just google and browse. Reputable ones will answer all your questions and should offer a free sample of their work for you to check their suitability.
As for selling it? I'll shortly create an Authors page for my website, where I'll list many of the resources that helped me make Kill Switch an Amazon Best Seller in just 12 days.
Don't think of the cost of these tools - think of the investment in your future!
Good luck.
Yes.
But only enough to get by (get a room, get a meal, get around, etc.) - I'm not some sort of genius!
What if…?
Don't get scammed! If you buy from one of those sellers, you are buying a USED book, no matter what they claim it is.
I've seen those sellers (and reported many to Amazon!). These people are absolute scum who lie about the condition of their stock just to claw your hard-earned money out of your hands.
Apart from Blue Zoo, there are NO Amazon Marketplace sellers that have new copies of What if...?. Any that advertise that they have are trying to scam you into buying a used copy that's in a decent condition. Don't let them con you!
The only places to get new copies of What if...? are through this website, or through the seller Blue Zoo on Amazon. Any other seller is lying to you.
Online stores like Amazon demand an absolutely staggering amount of discount from publishers. That's how they can offer so many books at such low prices. This means publishers get very little for all their hard work unless they're selling thousands and thousands of copies week in week out.
Small publishers struggle. Big time. The easiest solution is to sell as many copies as they can through other outlets, e.g. an author's website.
Hardback editions of What if...? are available through my website. To buy one, you must checkout through this site using a credit card or Paypal.
Copies of What if...? ship from either England or Michigan in the USA. In either of those countries, delivery should be just a few days.
International shipping is hard to estimate. Depending on to which country the book is shipping, it could be just a few days to a few weeks.
What if…? films
Ah... Well... Er...
Firstly, I'm creating the films digitally, meaning I'm doing the bulk of the work on my computer using sophisticated software (the same software used to create special effects in big Hollywood blockbusters). This process is incredibly labor-intensive, so there's only so much I can do with the hours I have available.
Secondly, as you can imagine, Hollywood talent does not come cheap, so I can only hire people when I've saved the cash to do so.
Time and financial constraints mean I can't even guess at a release date. Yet.
How do I get Hollywood stars to work with me? Oh, that's easy.
In no particular order...
- By offering something of value they can believe in.
- By being polite.
- By producing something for the greater good.
- By being exceedingly lucky.
- By offering money.
- By being very patient.
- By going through the correct channels.
- By not going through the correct channels.
- By researching people and what they care about.
- By trying and trying and trying.
- And then trying some more.
- And some more.
- And even more.
- And never, EVER giving up!
Yes, I'm a great believer in Animal Rights. And I do say I love bacon sandwiches! That's surely a giant contradiction, isn't it?
Well, it would be if I ate bacon sandwiches regularly!
Truth be told, even though I love them, I can't remember when I last had one. Not even what year. I think it was 2013!
That said, I do eat meat occasionally - on average for just two meals per week. I would like to cut that, but there's one tiny problem - I don't like lettuce, or tomato, or cucumber, or cabbage, or carrots, or beans, or cauliflower, or... well, I think you get the idea! As you can guess, I have a very varied and nutritious diet!
